Ammit the Devourer
Ammit (or Ammut) is a female Egyptian monster who is part crocodile, lion and hippopotamus. She eats the hearts (or souls) that are too heavy, having been weighed against the feather of Ma’at, or truth, justice and divine and cosmic balance.
And yes, I said female. Ammit is female. You don’t understand how annoyed I get when people say Ammit is male.
